ABC

This is another recipe I loved when I just needed a change of pace...or a change of flavor from my regular Mean Green.

2 apples
2 beets
2-4 carrots
1 cup cabbage
1-3 cups chard

You can also add 2 pears.  Remember to always core your apples because you don't want any of the bad stuff from those seeds. :)

  2. I think it's kind of a wive's tale, but they say not to send the seeds through because of the chance of poison in the seeds. Even though I think this pretty much says it all:

    Question:
Do apple seeds have arsenic in them? Is it dangerous to process apples with the seeds still in the fruit?

    Replies:
The good news: apple seeds do not contain arsenic. The bad news: apple seeds DO contain cyanide. As for processing the apples, what kind of processing are you interested in? Grinding apples and pressing them for cider doesn't release enough cyanide to be a problem; neither does cooking apples and straining them to make a sauce. About the only way you can actually run into a problem with the toxicity of apple seeds is if you save the seeds from about a bushel of apples and eat them all at once.
