After a successful 60 day fast, I'm convinced that juicing will be more of a way of life for me than just a 60 day experiment. I am going to post all of the recipes I used on this blog so they are easy to access and hopefully others will be inspired to give juicing for health a try.
If you are considering juicing, watch Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. It is an amazing and inspirational documentary. Also check out rebootwithjoe.com.
Has it been sixty days already? If so I would love a post on your eating plan now. Are you going to add solids, like salads to your diet? Are you considering yourself a vegetarian, or vegan now? What are you goals now?
ReplyDeleteLove your insights!
So we postponed my birthday celebration by a week and my wonderful kids planned a posole meal for me to celebrate. I figured it wouldn't be too bad since it is mostly just soup. The reality is I was full after just a few bites and felt kind of sick to my stomach. I think my stomach has clearly shrunk.
ReplyDeleteI have some travel at the end of the month which will not allow me to juice. Otherwise I think I would probably continue juicing for another 60 days, but only because of how obese I am to start with...certainly not something I would recommend for everyone. Because I don't want to get sick on my trip, my plan is to still mostly juice but to eat a few solid meals a week. I am definitely not a vegetarian...I have snacked on little bits of meat since I came off. I figured it was good to have that protein during my time off. I would imagine that mostly salads and fresh fruits and vegetables will be the way to go long term for me. We had started eating a lot of Paleo food before I started the juice fast, so I will try to stick to that non-processed, natural, grain free sort of diet.
I am amazed by how easy it is to slip things in now that I feel like I have done my 60 days...like can I just drink that milk instead of water? Eat an Easter candy? Crunch on some chips? Another sign I need to keep juicing...clearly haven't broken my bad habits yet. :)
Shoot. I missed your birthday! Happy Birthday late...
ReplyDeleteThanks for replying! I appreciate the information. I truly am impressed with your will-power! Congratulations on the sixty days, and the forty pounds! You are amazing!
I have been juicing once a day for the last couple of days, but hope to up it 2x a day, with most of my other meals being salads or Paleo.
I have been amazed at the instant energy I feel after juicing, and how not-yucky I feel too.
Thanks for being my go to person!
